HEALTH/Kwale County Youth CIDP Memo 2018-2022
Quote from Kwale Youth Council on April 19, 2018, 1:30 pmPROPOSALS
Kwale County made tremendous steps in the betterment of health services in the previous 5 year development plan. However drug abuse and sexually transmitted diseases remain a challenge among the youth. It is our hope that the next CIDP plan will create a positive relationship between the youth and the health sector.
To begin with, we propose for county intervention to support medical needs of youth living with disabilities. This could be in form of direct payments, subsidized hospital charges, or support through partnership with providers of medical support schemes.
There is need to further support youth indulging in drug abuse with a view to increasing access to support services and reducing or eliminating related costs. More rehabilitation centres to be established with adequate Medicare facilities, personnel and drugs.
By extension, all health centres must be fully equipped, adequately staffed and citizen charters introduced to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in Medicare.
