The Ummah Initiative Local Content Supplier Development Project Team held a very successful stakeholder consultative meeting at the Mvindeni County Biashara Center on 27th August 2019, to share the project goals and objectives, achievements so far and current challenges that the Kwale Local Content Task force needs to address through a work plan that will be developed with the support of Ummah Initiative. Those who attended the consultative meeting include, the Kwale County director of trade, the Kwale County director of revenue collection, the Ukunda Township Manager, Kwale Huduma Center Manager, Base Titanium Community Livelihoods Superintendent, Program Officer Plan International Kwale, Manager Diani Chale Mgt Trust, Director Praxis Technologies, Ukunda and Kinondo Community Development Officers, Director Minafrika, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce Representative and Procurement Officer Kenya School of Government-Matuga. Ummah Initiative will work very closely with the consultative team to ensure successful engagement of community and business stakeholders as well as successful operationalization of the Kwale Local Content Task force. We sincerely thank the County Executive Member for Tourism and Trade for the immense support given so far. We extend our sincere appreciation to the County Executive Committee Member for Social Services and Talent Management Hon. Ramadhani Masudi Bungale and again acknowledge and appreciate the significant support accorded to this project by the County Executive Committee Member for Finance and Economic Planning. The project team is now better organized and strategically positioned to deliver life transforming economic empowerment success stories for Kwale SMEs through value chain economic opportunities in the extractive sector, other multinational corporations and as well as government institutions and departments.
