The Kwale Local Content Inception meeting was held on 30th July 2019, at Dunhill Towers – GIZ offices in Westlands, Nairobi. The Meeting brought together four different consultants being engaged by Base Titanium and the Germany Agency for International Development – GIZ, on various local content support services aimed at increasing supply chain economic opportunities for SMEs in Kwale County at Base Titanium and other private sector companies.
Ummah Initiative has been contracted to engage community and business stakeholders leading to partnerships for increased value chain economic opportunities for Kwale youth, women and PWDs. Sterling Performance Africa has been contracted to support strengthening of knowledge in contractor procurement standards and award procedures among SMEs and facilitate access to procurement opportunities in original equipment manufacturers (OEM),and suppliers of Specialized Equipment. Development Frontiers will build the capacity of farm enterprises and SMEs in Agripreneurship, financial services, tax compliance support and general enterprise development. Kenya Association of Manufacturers will be supporting coaching and mentoring of 61 selected SMEs in Kwale County.
