The Kwale County Government has set aside KES. 100,648,122.05 for the projects in Kinondo ward. Unlike other times, many people turned up for the event which was held at Kinondo ward administrator’s office in Nyumba Mbovu.

Under the department of roads and public works, the approved projects were the rehabilitation and maintenance of two roads, light grading of two other roads and placing five floodlights.

Some citizens complained about incomplete roads like the Galu – Beach road which is incomplete and in a very bad condition going past the Kiungoni football field.

The sub county administrator responded that there is a program to upgrade the roads to marram since tarmacking is not in the budget.

Environment and natural resources had two projects at Kaya Chale and purchasing of a football field for Monaco fc.

A man stood up and complained that the football fields are not up to standard and that wall fence alone is not enough.

The sub county administrator made it clear that the wall fence is just phase one and phase two will be seats and other things. The county government is securing the field first to avoid land grabbing and other land disputes.

In the water services, there is the construction of boreholes and a water supply system.

Some members of Kinondo area complained that the area has been neglected yet they also have water problems and other boreholes which had been constructed before are not efficient and they don’t supply water.

This complaint was responded by the Msambweni sub county administrator that the county government is aware of the area and in the coming budgets, they will be considered, as for the already constructed boreholes which are not effective, something will be done soon.

Education, research and human resource development had the most projects in ECDEs and youth polytechnics. A youth by the name Ali Mwabwagizo said that the government should not only sponsor the national schools’ students but also the students in county and sub county schools since they are also in need. Ali also said that youths in these polytechnics should be considered since fees payment is the main challenge.

The Msambweni subcounty admin said that he had noted the concern and it will be taken care of.

Under medical and public health services, there are two projects, construction of staff house and construction of dispensary. Again, the Kinondoans asked for more dispensaries and equipping of the current ones since some health facilities are not up to standards. A man named Mwalimu Shida said that he has a piece of land that he is giving it out for free to be built a dispensary. They were promised by the sub county boss that more dispensaries shall be constructed.

In the social services and talent management, there were three projects which are construction of public toilet, village saving and loans association and construction of perimeter wall for a sports field.
