Ramisi Ward Annual Development Plan Public Participation Forum 8/01/2018

The Ramisi ward citizen participation forum started with discussions on incomplete development projects as planned in the financial year 2017 /2018. The forum observed that the delayed Nyumba Sita trading center is a major development set back. Un-ending conflict over piece of land identified for the ward sports field and unscrupulous tender-entrepreneurs were mentioned as main reasons that led to the incompletion of the sports field at Nyumba Sita. County Government of Kwale was advised to intervene on the land issue for cattle dip project. The citizens termed the cattle dip land site in Kingwede as private land hence the need for the county government to buy the land or enter into a lease agreement. The female youth complained of being excluded from county government sports programs and demanded for equal attention and treatment. A demand for ECDE center was also made by the Vingujini residents.

The ward citizen participation forum came up with the following development recommendations for the financial year 2018/2019: It was agreed that every location should be given a skip Bin instead of 1 at Bomani. Despite appreciating the County Government farm input program, there was unanimous agreement among the citizens on the need to improve the distribution mechanisms to ensure fairness and equity. A demand was raised by the citizens as well for both the ward and village administrators’ offices to be constructed. In addition the citizens agreed on the need for more veterinary doctors to be hired by the county government to aid in livestock fertilization. A proposal for construction of houses for doctors was marred by nugatory remarks from the doctors who don’t wish to live in the premises. The need to reconstruct the Milalani to Mwagundu road due to its poor condition was not disputed. Finally, the citizens insisted on plans for sensitization by the county on sand miners to conserve the environment by planting trees and refilling surface holes.

Great step taken by the loyal Kwale citizens to forward their views on the development projects for the benefit of the community. We leave it to the relevant people to well perform their duty on delivering what the citizens want.
